SCRIPT CONSULTING
Are you a creative in need of thoughtful and thorough critique of a screenplay?
Tristin Morton prides herself in providing constructive and comprehensive feedback as a script consultant.
Tristin started her career in film and television in the development department of an independent production company, reading scripts and writing reports; and before that she majored in Creative Writing at the University of Victoria, where she was trained in how best to give constructive critique. She is a screenwriter, having worked in writers’ rooms as a story editor on three different series and is currently in development on a feature-length screenplay. Her experience makes her an observant and detail-oriented reader, with an approach to reports that is mindful and supportive of the artists involved.
Reader’s reports for feature-length screenplays are 5+ pages and include a half-page synopsis, an in-depth analysis – covering plot, structure, characters, action, dialogue, theme, tone, genre, audience, readability, and technical aspects – and ends with an evaluation.
Choose between a cold read or a 15-30-minute meeting (online or in-person) prior to the reading. The inception and goals of the project can be valuable context for the evaluation.
With the completion of the reader’s report, Tristin offers a 60-minute meeting to discuss her analysis (via online or in person, depending on scheduling needs).
