SCREENWRITING WORKSHOPS
At some point in our process, we all need fresh eyes on our work, no matter what our experience level may be. Tristin Morton offers a workshop for screenwriters based in the Lekwungen territory (aka Victoria) who are looking for constructive and supportive feedback. Bring your project – from the outline stage to final draft – to an inclusive and informative forum.
The workshop length will be based on the number of participants in the workshop.
min. 3 to max. 8 ppl
* 1 in-person introductory session + 1 session per participant
(if there are 8 people participating in the workshop there will be 9 weekly sessions total)
5:45PM START
Choose between a MONDAY or WEDNESDAY workshop.
$95
* Current and former students of Tristin’s screenwriting courses will receive a discount.
The FIRST SESSION takes place IN PERSON and will be no more than 1 HOUR.
All in the same space, we will learn a little about each other, our projects, and our goals. Tristin will then explain the structure and etiquette for the workshop. The intention of each session is for the creator of their project to feel respected and supported.
* PDF copies of your project will need to be sent to Tristin via email before this session.
For those concerned with plagiarism, feel free to watermark Tristin Morton on your script or document. If you’d prefer to hand out a printed version of your project, please have the copies ready to hand out in the first session.
The FOLLOWING 3 TO 8 SESSIONS will be ONLINE and will be 1.5 HOURS.
Each weekly session will focus on one project. For your assigned session, a portion of your script or outline will be read aloud by your fellow participants, then you will receive verbal feedback on your project.
Each session's project will be announced the week prior. Please read your fellow participant’s work before the session and come prepared with feedback.
Written critique for each project will come from Tristin in the form of a reader’s report. She will be adding to her report your valuable feedback given during the session before sending to the project’s creator.
Please note: Tristin's expertise is in writing feature films and series, and she is learning the craft of radio plays. If your project falls outside those bounds (ex. movies-of-the-week, theatre plays, short film, etc.) please know that you are very much welcome into a workshop but be aware that feedback will be less tailored to those formats than you might like.
* If you would like to participate but can’t commit to every session, reach out and Tristin will do her best to accommodate.
* If you are in a time crunch and need constructive feedback soon, please check out Tristin’s script consulting services.
If you have any questions or are ready to sign up for a workshop, please fill out and submit the form below and Tristin will be in contact ASAP.
